Twitter's Outcry over 'Alejandra Jonas'

Earlier today (March 2nd, 2010), a trend titled '#RIPAlejandraJonas' popped up on the top trend chart for Twitter. After a bit of investigation, Twitter users found the girls alleged Twitter and Formspring page. Wouldn't you know it though, as soon as that happens, Twitter is suddenly buzzing about the Formspring page being a fake. I don't know if you people have noticed, but over 800 people are dead in Chile and thousands more are missing from the coastal regions. To focus on this one girl, as sad as her alleged death is, is inappropriate and horrible for the sheer destruction brought on by this tragedy. Both fan camps for Justin Bieber and the Jonas Brothers need to stop doing this. If anything, stop proliferating this in the name of a musical group. It demeans the actual tragedy, and has no place in its discussion. I'm sure the family and friends of the other victims would be upset if everyone paid attention to this one girl because she clung to a poster, then the girl who died with her family.

Remember Chile. Appropriately.
